Our story began roughly six years ago when this building, with its unique character, first captivated us, Kevin and Cora LaBarr. We were drawn to its existing cool vibe but saw an opportunity to elevate it; the food offerings at the time didn’t match the inviting atmosphere. We envisioned breathing new life into it, pairing that intrinsic appeal with a truly compelling culinary experience.
The name itself tells a story of evolution. Originally the “305 Wine Garage” – a nod to its address at 305 Main Street and its past life as an auto repair garage – we loved its historical character. However, to leverage the reputation of our other establishment, AJ’s Bar & Grill, and to clearly communicate our commitment to both exceptional wine and fantastic food, we transitioned to “AJ’s Wine & Dine Garage.” This name marries the “Garage” legacy with the trusted “AJ’s” brand, explicitly highlighting the “Wine” and “Dine” aspects. It perfectly encapsulates our identity: a place where great wine, delicious food, and a unique setting converge. AJ’s Wine & Dine Garage has proudly operated from this same distinctive Main Street location, becoming a cherished local fixture.
